halloweenies

our annual halloween festivities are pretty much over.

all thats left is passing out candy. if we even have kids in our neighborhood.

we carved pumpkins.

mine is the one eating the little pumpkin and Lance's is the grim reaper.

for the trunk or treat we picked our costumes based on Orion's. he is our child.

so we were cowboys. i was so surprised that Lance agreed to be something so cliche.

our trunk was 'the anderson saloon" we had saloon doors, a campfire, our pumpkins were on display and lance even played his guitar.

the idea was to have the kids push the saloon doors open to grab the candy but those posters were razor sharp. both lance and i got crazy deep papercuts. so the doors were non-operational and we held the bowl of candy outside.

orion was such a good boy during the trunk or treat that he got a reward when we got home. he sure was happy!

i love this time of year and all of the holidays that are back to back.

not to mention the colder weather and the snuggles in bed.

eyebrows

i saw this picture a few weeks ago and thought it was hilarious scary different.

eyebrows really do make a difference.
a blog i read posted this today and it reminded me of the experiment i did.

i wanted to see if i could change a picture and see if anyone could spot the weirdness.

weird right?
i dont look much different
but lance does.
thank goodness he has eyebrows.

who knew patches of hair on our face were so crucial?

weekend projects

this saturday was quite the fulfilling day.
at nine the comcast guy came over.
(dont get me started on comcast. i hate them)
talk about awful b.o.
like so awful that the smell lingered for a good while.

i was able to get the usual chores done.
laundry, dishes, vacuuming.
as well as a pinterest project i had seen.

i decided this needed to be done.
i haven't decided to splurge on real night stands yet.
when our water heater broke and started leaking the carpet people came
and multiple times i was embarrassed at what items could be seen inside.
so i mod podged some scrapbook paper.
no more embarrassments :)

i spray painted my kitchen table a little over a year ago and i did an awful job.
i was ashamed of it any time anyone ate off of it.
there were scrapes everywhere and the enamel was uneven and wearing off.
so i repainted it.
off white this time.
and brushing on enamel is better than spraying enamel.
you live and you learn.

after:

my mom got me a sewing machine for my birthday.
although my birthday isn't until december.
she's on top of things like that.
anyways, i love maxi dresses but being real tall makes wearing maxi dresses slightly hard.
i feel like i only like them on me if they touch the ground.
impossible to buy.
not impossible to make.
i used this idea and made it longer and skipped the gathered look.
and added ruffles to the top.
not bad for my first sewing project without any help.
i think lance was impressed.
too much?

my next sewing project is going to be this i think.
