Liam is one!

we finally made it! i kept a human being alive for a whole year without any crazy incidents!
it's crazy to think that liam has been with us for a whole year but at the same time thinking about being in the hospital right after he was born seems like a lifetime ago. i can't imagine life without this little kid. he is the happiest, goofiest, busiest ball of energy. i'm so glad he is who he is and that he's in our family!

i think the stage that he's at right now has been my favorite. i love seeing him do new things everyday. it always surprises me when he does something that we haven't tried teaching and he picked up on his own like holding a phone to his ear to talk. liam is non stop energy. he is go go go from the minute he wakes up until his nap time and as soon as he's up again he's on the move. he sure keeps us on our toes!

he's gotten into the nasty habit of biting. he leaves bruises, he bites so hard! i'm having a hard time with getting him to understand that he's not supposed to bite. even saying no very sternly while holding/pinching his cheek makes him laugh. a pop on the wrist or bum does nothing. this is something we need to work on.

Liam's one year stats are:
weight: 28.3 lbs
height: 33 inches

liam's latest developments are:
picking up his pace if we run after him and say we're going to get him
snapping his fingers (or close enough to snapping)
pointing to things on his body (ear, nose, hair, head, knee, belly button)
following simple instructions like get an item and hand it to a person named
does not like to sit still for church
has transitioned to whole milk (thank goodness!)
in 12-18 month clothes
in size 4 diapers
currently loves hot dogs and mandarin oranges

here is a flashback to all of liam's monthly pictures:

here are a few snapshots of liam last month:
wakulla springs! cold water!
he looks like a 4 year old to me
the boy likes a good relaxation
placing important phone calls

and a few videos:
quizzing liam
best of buds
trying out pop rocks
love when he randomly laughs to himself
he lives for bath time

What a cutie! My favorite thing to do is to watch children explore and find new fun things about life. Loved watching him look at the bubbles. Trying to taste a few and then seeing what else they can do. This world is an amazing place. You two are doing a great job. Keep giving him more things to explore and try out. Love that cute little belly!

What a cutie! Ouch about the biting!! Ellie is really into pinching which isn't as bad, but boy does it hurt when she does it on your arm fat! So fun seeing him change and grow this past year!

It blows my mind to think that Liam is one but at the same time it doesn't. I don't know about you but this year has gone by so quickly! Liam is a doll and it's so wonderful seeing him grow up and learn new things. You and Lance are doing a great job. OH and about the not wanting to sit still in church thing, just think, six more months to nursery! =)
