It's 4:20 at work and I'm dyin' to be off work already. I haven't posted it such a long time. I get on here probably every other day and check out everyone's blogs and roll my eyes when I see that some blogs never seem to get updates but yet I myself am one of those people. I never have the motivation to update my blog except today. Maybe these last few minutes of work will speed by if I'm forced to write.
I seriously hate writing. I'm taking a sociology class this semester and before I signed up I looked at the old trusty ratemyprofessors.com site and my teacher had some good reviews. Someone mentioned that she assigns some "short papers" during the semester and I thought a few short papers wasn't a bad deal. So let's go to the first day of class. Sarah (who looks and sounds exactly like a girl I knew growing up and now I feel like I might have a little built up resentment towards her just for looking like my teacher) explains to us the class syllubus and I'm so happy I finally signed up for a good class. A few weeks in and the first "short paper" is assigned. I don't know how she thinks a 2 page paper, single spaced is short. And she expects 6 of these? Like I said before, I HATE writing. We've been assigned 5 of the 6 papers already and every single time I sit in my room trying to type out these papers and all I can think about is going to eat at a pizza buffet. Without fail, the craving comes. One time I even made Lance meet me at Stevi B's so we could eat and I could finish writing my paper without the writers block. They were a few minutes within closing when we got there and had to settle with Cici's pizza. It was good, but it wasn't Stevi B's. The next night comes and I sit back down to write the rest of my paper and guess what I start thinking about... Stevi B's baked potato pizza (yes, that's their specialty and it's amazing). I'd say 4 out of the 5 papers have been finished while I'm at work and without the craving of pizza. End of the story, I hate writing and writing at work is the only time it'll get done.
It's that time of the year again and engagments are happening all over the place. This time last year I was planning Kendal's bridal/bachelorette parties as you can sadly see from my last post. My roommate Lindy is now engaged and it's time to plan another set of parties. But seriously, why is spring the season of engagements? Is there something in the pollen that makes people fall in love? I don't know what it is but it's catching on.
I guess quite a bit has gone on since my last post and I don't feel like talking about everything. So if I happen to have a picture from something that qualifies to have a good caption I'll share it. And maybe I'll start writing more frequently. We'll see.
I got a puppy from the pound, he's a handful. But he's such a fun dog. He is a bassador(basset/Lab) His name is Orion.I ran a 5-k with Kendal! I'll never do it again!!A group of friends went down to the keys to go snorkling. It was so much fun but so tiring.
This was from the same trip. We went to the cheesecake factory and had dinner.

Ya! Good job! Nice to see you haven't forgotten us! ORION! Love his eyes! Spring and engagements I have no idea except no school for the summer? Stevie B's... We will have to try sometime.
YEAH! you're writing again! and I love how you posted the picture of us in our snorkels, specially because I look like I have junk in my front in that picture blahahaha
Yeah, I'm horrible about updating mine. I guess I'll get to it, one of these days! :) Loved your post. I'm with your mom on the Spring Engagements. They do it so they can be married during summer break, I guess. Who knows. Maybe there is something about the idea of the pollen! I think you might be onto something!!!
Two words Kristen: Cabin Fever.
There's just something about being locked inside together all winter that makes people want to get married. Hey-o!
Also, I'm so excited that you posted!!!!! YAY!
Speaking of Spring and Engagements.. .do you have something else to share?
Never heard of bassettador--but glad you are enjoying him. So, other than the papers, are you enjoying to Soc. class? When we lived at Cove Fort in the mid 90's, I came very close to going back to school and getting a degree in social work, which would have involved a lot of Soc. and Psych. classes--something I am very interested in. But we had a blizzard the day I had an appt. in Cedar City to talk with an admissions counselor, so I cancelled and never got enough nerve to call again and reschedule.
Keep plugging away at school. I think its much easier to finish in a straight shot, than to drop out and try to go back later--especially if later means spouse and kids as well as a job.
Love you, Marcia Newell
