I don't know if it's weird to talk about
but I was hoping some of you would have some info or something.
I kind of hate taking the pill.
I have heard about the shot Depo-Provera that supposedly works for 3 months.
I have my doubts of a shot working for 3 months.
At least with the pill I know there is something working daily.
Has anyone heard good things about this?
Bad things?
Personal stories?
Is this too personal?

I was not a pill fan either. It was hard to remember to take it, and it made me feel weird, like not a nice person. Anyway, I haven't taken depo, but our docs at the hospital always suggest it to patients, especially the really young ones, so it must work. Good luck!!!
I haven't taken depo either but a bunch of the girls at work do. They all love it (and are baby free unlike 3 co-workers who have gotten pregnant while on the pill... in the last 4 months). The only negative I have heard is that it makes you gain weight more then the pill.
Hate wouldn't be a strong enough word when describing the pill. I had such horrible side affects! So, happy me to not have to take it. I have heard lots of people who get the shot and love it! What do you got to lose? What does your Dr. think? Good luck on your quest!
I know of two people who did depo-one had no problems and the other had some really bad side effects. Have you thought about the patch? I used it when we were first married and I loved it! I had NO side effects and it's so much easier than the pill since you only change it once a week. I was a little worried about it falling off but it never did (I went swimming with it on). Let me know if you want more info on it.
Having been on EVERY TYPE OF BC KNOWN TO MAN, I must say that the pill had the least amount of side effects for me. I did the patch and loved it... until they stopped making it because it apparently can lead to blood clots and strokes..? Then my Dr. put me on the depo shot and I wanted to die. Seriously, it was the worst thing I have ever done. I put on about 30 lbs and was an emotional wreck. But you know your body better than anybody else. Some women have no problem with Depo. But 9/10 of the women I have talked to who have been on it have not liked it at all. Good luck in deciding :)
