so i mentioned in this post that we were beginning to look for a house to purchase.
well, we found one!
since being an adult i would often think about the home that we'd purchase one day and i was so excited to start that process. until we started.
in case you didn't know, tallahassee is expensive to live in compared to other places. when i would get bored, i would look up other random cities and put in our specifics and look to see what other cities offer. we could get so much more for our money in most places than we could here in tally so that got a bit depressing. there was also a lack of good quality homes for sale at the moment.
we were faced with the choice of getting a not so nice fixer upper house or a high end townhouse for the same amount. i was all about move-in ready! we looked a few different places and all offered different things. it seemed like with every one of them we were sacrificing something. a yard, carpet in good condition, good sized rooms, appliances from this century.
we learned that if we liked something, we needed to jump on it quick. we looked at the townhouse on a thursday and took the weekend to think about it and by the time we told our realtor (who is a whole story in itself!) that we wanted to put an offer on it and found out it had gone under contract the day before. in just 3 days! and another one we looked at went under contract the day after! so when we looked at the last place, we talked about it that day and told our realtor the next day that we wanted to go for it.
so we made an offer, they countered, we counter and they accepted. we agreed on a closing date of may 31st and have gotten past most of the big things like the property inspection, the appraisal, the loan. everything is looking good so far.
i'm so excited about this place! it's on the north side near the thomasville rd walmart. and it's in third ward! it'll be so good to be in my home ward! it is in great school zones.
it's just perfect! i can't wait to get in and make it ours!

the color in the kitchen is peach and the living room is one shade lighter than that so that def needs to be painted and the bathrooms have pretty bad wallpaper so if you like painting or taking down wallpaper let me know!!

Of course you move into 3rd ward when we are moving OUT!!! But so happy you found a place!!!! It looks great!!! Excited you'll be on this side of town, and I'm sure your mom is so excited to have you in her ward!

Congratulations, You are officially an adult!! Buying a house (as you already know) is exciting and stressful. Once you get back all the inspections and so forth the stress goes down. The best day is signing day by far and getting those keys. The house is so cute and those hardwood floors look like butter so nice. We'll miss you of course in 1st ward but thank goodness you're still in Tallahassee. If you moved out of town I would probably cry my eyes out (same with chris).
