this saturday was quite the fulfilling day.
at nine the comcast guy came over.
(dont get me started on comcast. i hate them)
talk about awful b.o.
like so awful that the smell lingered for a good while.
i was able to get the usual chores done.
laundry, dishes, vacuuming.
as well as a pinterest project i had seen.
i decided this needed to be done.
i haven't decided to splurge on real night stands yet.
when our water heater broke and started leaking the carpet people came
and multiple times i was embarrassed at what items could be seen inside.
so i mod podged some scrapbook paper.
no more embarrassments :)
i spray painted my kitchen table a little over a year ago and i did an awful job.
i was ashamed of it any time anyone ate off of it.
there were scrapes everywhere and the enamel was uneven and wearing off.
so i repainted it.
off white this time.
and brushing on enamel is better than spraying enamel.
you live and you learn.

my mom got me a sewing machine for my birthday.
although my birthday isn't until december.
she's on top of things like that.
anyways, i love maxi dresses but being real tall makes wearing maxi dresses slightly hard.
i feel like i only like them on me if they touch the ground.
impossible to buy.
not impossible to make.
i used this idea and made it longer and skipped the gathered look.
and added ruffles to the top.
not bad for my first sewing project without any help.
too much?
my next sewing project is going to be this i think.

I was gonna say, that skirt is SO cute, when I saw you in Primary! Go girl.
Your table looks sooo good white. I like how it brightens everything up! And you have mad sewing skills. That dress looks so good. From all angles. Yea. I went there.
you made that?! girrrrl teach me!
i also plan on doing that men's shirt skirt. the only problem is when i came home from goodwill with a blue and white striped shirt to use, brett liked it so much he said it was his and i couldn't cut it up. ha
OH NOW i remember the men's shirt project. Oh yeah I really wanted to try that... I just need to convince chris to let me use one of his shirts. I love the table too!
I LOVE the inexpensive/creative night stand idea! We don't have night stands either and it's quite an embarrassment with everything just laying on the floor! I might steal that idea! :)
P.S. Yay for sewing!
The "too much?" picture literally made me laugh out loud. Awesome craftiness lady!
