Easters Weekend

I love that line in Nacho Libre about Easters, and ever since then, Easter has never been pronounced the same in my household.

Thursday:
I was so excited for my first Easter with Lance.
I though up the plan of surprising him with a tight Easter basket Sunday morning.
I went to the store Thursday and bought all the goods and by the time I came home,

I couldn't wait until Sunday to show it to him. So I told him to wait in the bedroom and I'd

bring it to him.

After I put it all together, I made him act like he was waking up on Sunday morning and was surprised.
The Easter bunny knew exactly what earrings I had been eyeing.

Friday:

As a little girl, I used to love Easter cause I knew that meant I would get a pretty new dress.

And why should that stop now?

Especially now that I have a husband to match with?!
So I went out and got us a matching outfit! Can't wait till we have kids to make the matching even more fun.

I have seen tutorials all over the internet for the fabric flowers and decided to make one for my dress. It was so easy and was done in like 8 minutes.

Saturday:

We went to the wards primary Easter egg hunt and watched the poor little kids try to find the eggs that bigger kids threw into the ivy brush that was at least calf high.

Very funny to watch.

I boiled about 25 eggs as I volunteered to bring deviled eggs to each of our families Easter meals.

I'm so happy Lance agreed to dye eggs with me.
I worried he wouldn't be into it, but turns out he's was better/more creative than me.

I think he has been racking his brain with ideas for months.

We used many tools as you can see

*Note the thick manly beard*

My friend from high school had her baby Friday so we went to visit her.

Logan was such a little cutie with lots of reddish hair!

Here is a picture of him in the whale onsie I had made for him.

Sunday:

We went to church in our cute matchy outfits.

I battled 10 sugar loaded 6 and 7 year olds in primary.

We ate two huge Easter meals.

Came home and crashed.

*Note a fresh shaved face*

This has only happened three times since we've been together.

Through out that whole week I always had the Savior on my mind and the sacrifice He made. When it came to Sunday my heart was full and I could feel the spirit so strong telling me how much He loved me. I am so grateful for this time of year to reflect upon the life of the Savior and the impact He has in my life.

DIY Paint Chip Easter Garland

I love to make crafts but no one ever comes to my house so they would never be seen.

But I came across this cute idea and thought you bloggies might like it.

It's so cute and would be so easy.

Click here if this picture intrigues you.

Help! I need advice

I don't know if it's weird to talk about
but I was hoping some of you would have some info or something.

I kind of hate taking the pill.
I have heard about the shot Depo-Provera that supposedly works for 3 months.
I have my doubts of a shot working for 3 months.
At least with the pill I know there is something working daily.

Has anyone heard good things about this?
Bad things?
Personal stories?

Is this too personal?

The good, the bad and the ugly of Etsy

The Good:

Within the past few weeks I have grown to love Esty. Whenever I go to that website I always know what I want to search and go straight for it.

The baby section always gets a visit, whether or not it's the purpose of my visit.

I like to get/see ideas for cute crafts (even if I don't ever make them).

I have always thought etsy was such a cute little website, with cute little items, for a not so cute price.

UNTIL

The Bad:

I came upon the Origami section.

8 paper cranes for $6.00? Those take 2 minutes to make with free paper.

Then

The Ugly:

The Taxidermy section.

Really?! Who buys dried out frogs and lizzards, animal skulls, a chick embreyo, or cat claw bobby pins? These are real listed items!

Next time I have $1000 bucks laying around, this baby is mine.

Tear Jerker

I'm assuming everyone who reads my blog is a member of the LDS church so I'm going to go right in the purpose of the this post, without explaining what General Conference is and all that jazz.
Wasn't conference just great?!
First off, I love that the choir sang this song. It's one of the songs the primary learned this year. I don't think they had it in my primary days. It has such a beautiful message for the children to learn and understand. My favorite line in the song is in the first verse right before the choir, it says
"I did not touch Him or sit on His knee,
Yet, Jesus is real to me.
"
How basic and simple this line is, yet it's so comforting.

And second, how amazing was Richard G Scott's talk?! I could just feel the love he has for his wife while he talked. If I hadn't been at my in-laws house, I'm sure I would have been bawling like a baby. I loved everything he said. I felt his pain for the loss of his best friend, companion and wife.
Lance and I will leave little love notes for each other every once in a while so I like that he mentioned they did that. Is it weird if I ask Lance to write a personalized "“Jeanene, it is time to tell you I love you.” in our clock...?
I want to thank him for saying the part about holding your wife close and telling her how very much you love her. It really does make a difference in hearing that than just the plain "I love you".

I have listened to this talk at least 3 times and thought about it a lot. Every time I do, I always feel a bit emotional. I'm so grateful for the marriage I have and the amazing relationship with my husband. I wouldn't ask for anything more, other than maybe a few more back rubs and a few more snuggles :)

Also, I get to attend Lance's brothers sealing this weekend. I'm so excited to see these two finally get married. Erica and I would have talks all the time about the Anderson boys needing to step up to the plate so it's about time they seal the deal. It's the first sealing I'll be at that wasn't my own and I'm excited to see what it's like when you're not the one nervous and getting married! I'm sure the next blog post will include pictures!
