although it's no brazil, this year we are going out west!

in a little over a week we will be heading out to slc.

we are going with lance's parents and i'm so excited!

some stops we'll make include:

  • the slopes. snowboarding for me, skiing for lance and perry.

  • rexburg to meet my little nephew.

  • snowmobiling.

  • shopping with lori while the boys ski some more.

more importantly, a week off work!!! i need the break after this crazy busy month!

we've been hacked!

lance noticed last night that his xbox points were at zero when just a few days ago he had at least like 4000. he had gotten points from his birthday and christmas presents and has been saving them up. he knew that he hadn't downloaded anything or used the points. i tried to joke with him that i bought the new martha stewart game with all his points but he knew better so he called the xbox customer service.

they did the usual security check to make sure they knew they were talking to who lance said he was. they asked for his name, address, phone number, and when they asked for his credit card number he said he'd have to find it (meaning he didn't want to go into the living room and get it). so the guy said "well i could ask you your secret question but it's in chinese characters" lance tells him that's impossible because he doesn't speak chinese. after he finally gets up to get his card number the guy agrees that lance is lance and takes a look at his account.

he looks up the download history on lance's account and says there were 17 downloads on the same day of the same thing, which is suspicious, cause who would do that? there were a few more downloads here and there that lance didn't make. they said that while they were talking to lance the password to the account had been changed and lance didn't do it. it became pretty clear that someone hacked into his account and took all of his points.

we were worried at first about his card number being stolen but luckily the xbox guy said he didn't see any downloads from the card number, just the points that were already available. we were left with two options. either start completely over and lose everything or they could investigate what happened, he could keep his screenname thing and we could get all the points back.

so we chose to have it investigated. bad news is, they have to lock his account for a month. that means no xbox playing for lance which sucks but it also means, no netflix for a month!! oh the horror!!

we should have known something was weird when lance noticed 4 random new friends on his list and i played it off as being my new friends, georgina and tina.

friday phone dump

so when i went on to picnik to make up my last friday phone dump, a notice came up saying something about getting sold and going to google chrome. yada yada yada. anyways, the collage feature is no where to be found. so until i figure out where it went or another website that does one, i'm on hiatus.
in other news, picnik's premium features are free until april 19!!! check it out!! love that site!

this morning i woke up at 6 to go with my mother and sister in law to see the tea cup pig they are getting. she is so cute!!! she's got a cute little personality! and her eyes are blue!

just call me pop-a-lock

on a normal day i get home about 10 minutes before lance. yesterday this was the case. i was in my closet changing out of my work clothes when i hear a knock at the door so i run to get it, in my pajama pants and collared shirt ensemble. luckily and oddly it was only lance.
first thing he says to me is how he has never made this mistake. then he holds up his set of bank keys and says that he grabbed the wrong keys and locked his car.
we knew we had two options. call pop a lock or jimmy our way in. pop a lock would have been $100 bucks down the drain so we didn't want to go down that road. the problem with jimmying our way in was that we didn't have one single wire hanger in our house. not even thinking that the keys were locked in and a spare key does not exist, i began thinking up a plan to go make a copy at lowes. total blonde moment. while i changed, lance went around to some neighbors and finally found one that was home/willing to part with a few hangers.
our goal was to get the curve of the hanger to grab the manual door lock thing to unlock it. the hardest part was getting the hanger into the car. we first tried the passenger side door but that seemed hopeless. then we pulled off the side mirror on the driver side (his mirror is being held on by duct tape) and we were able to get in through that way.
30 minutes later i am able to finally push the door lock open to get in. before then i would be able to push it a tiny bit and then it would get to one point and swing back. talk about frustrating! also, i did all of this while having a bad case of hiccups.
so if you ever get locked out of your car and want to save major bucks, give me a call!

losers

some co-workers of mine have decided to do a biggest loser competition starting tomorrow. i decided to join in. here are the deets.
- competition lasts 90 days.
- weigh in is every friday.
- winner is person with the most percentage of weight loss.
- everyone puts $10 in and winner takes all. currently at $80.

my "last supper" choice was chick-fil-a. tomorrow starts 3 months of salads, running up 7 flights of stairs, and hopefully pounds shed.

Wish me luck.

guns and horses

what did i do this weekend? oh, i just spent my day working on country roots. lance works with a girl who has land in quincy and also has some horses so we hung out there for a while.
we rode horses.
my view while on the horse.
we shot skeet.
lance hip fired while recreating the scene from the old black and white movie in home alone.
"keep the change you filthy animal" part
first, who has a trampoline these days?
and second, who had dueling trampolines?
also, that piece of wood at the top of the picture is a see-saw. a very intense see-saw. like 7 or 8 feet off the ground see-saw.
