the one where we almost didn't get our table.

let me take you back to the beginning of may. my mom and i go up to turners right across the georgia line to look for a new kitchen table.
we're met by a salesmen, let's call him vaca (his last name, which also means cow in spanish. this is important later on) who shows us where the tables are and leaves us to look around (one point for vaca for not staying an inch behind us at all times)
i pick a few that i really like and when vaca does come back, we have a really nice casual conversation (one point for vaca for knowing when enough is enough)
i finalize on which table i want and go to check out. i even pay for them to deliver it because vaca tells me they take it out of the box and assemble it there and make sure it's level to fit the house. nice.
when it comes time to getting the protection plan or not, i decide not to (after he already puts adds it on, assuming i wanted it). that's when vaca does a complete 180. he starts getting pushy and telling me i'll need it because liam will bite through the legs of the table or he'll etch his name in the chair. i still keep saying no and then he tries this tactic, "it's 100 dollars but that's only XX dollars a month, which is really only XX a week, which turns out to only be pennies a day, pennies a day!" my reply, "no, it's 100 more dollars today and not pennies over the next 4 months". he gets even more upset (minus 10 points for vaca for being a douche).
i stick to my guns. we end up not getting the protection plan.
i tell him that we wont be in our new house until june 22 and would like it delivered on the 29th. i think i said the date june 29th at least four times in our conversation.
so thats that.
come june 25th, i haven't heard a thing from turners and call to make sure we're still good with the delivery date.
when i tell the guy i wanted to verify the date he says "if we told you a delivery date, then we'll deliver it on that date. let me check though". but guess what, there was no delivery date noted.
dang, you vaca, you stupid dumb cow! (vaca is so far in negative points that i am going to complain about him to the company)
i also can't believe that they would sell me a $600 table and two months later, not even ask when i was ever going to get my table.
lucky enough for turners they happen to have a delivery date open on the 29th. the original delivery date.

so now we're back to june 29th and the guys show up and pull out the table from the truck, already assembled and just place it in the kitchen and go. what happened to assembling it in our house and making sure it was level vaca?! i definitely could have set it up myself and saved 75 bucks.

moral of the story, dont let vaca help you if you go to turners. he is a stupid lying cow.

at least i still love the table.
it matches the floor perfectly. and my favorite feature is the butterfly leaf. it's stored under the table so we can make it bigger by just pulling it apart and we dont have to store it anywhere!

also, i love the ikea curtains we got. i love the long look and how they pop with the white on grey.

and that's the story of how we almost didn't get out kitchen table.

Stupid cow. Bad customer service is so frustrating. I would write to the company for sure! On the bright side,

Wow really? That's crazy. I hope the table didn't get scratched or anything before they brought it in. OH and Liam bitting the legs and/or chairs WHAT THE HECK! he was really trying to think of anything rediculous.

Anyway, I love the table. We have one like that in Naples and it's really nice; especially that hidden leaf. Plus high tables are so much more fun. I can't wait to see your new place =)
