the holidays

birthday:
i turned 24! still just a young buck (doe?)  birthdays around christmas time really stink. you get gypt on birthday presents cause you have christmas presents coming and you get gypt on christmas presents cause you just had birthday presents. and growing up i never got to bring cupcakes to school cause we were already out for christmas break and i couldn't do a party cause all my friends would be gone or would have family in town. lose lose situation all around. if i can help it, i wont have a christmas baby. but as i get older, birthdays seem less important.
this year lance got me a pretty little locket.
we went to eat at shulas and had the most delicious steak of my life. i'm normally not a huge steak person but when i was thinking about what i wanted to do for my birthday dinner, i craved steak. lance had no objections!
we are so grateful for uncle logan and aunt maggie, let's be real, mostly maggie for being willing to watch our little man so we could enjoy our evening baby free!

christmas:
this christmas we were lucky enough to have my brother and his family come to visit us for christmas. they flew in christmas eve so we hung out at the andersons until their flight come in. lori really knows how to do up right with appetizers!! she had a delish crab meat dip and a tasty buffalo chicken dip. we just hung out and snacked for a few hours. we met my family at the airport just in time to welcome robby and brittany and little robby through the gate. it was so exciting to finally get to show liam off to them!!
we headed home and had our annual christmas eve philly cheese steaks and played a pretty hilarious game of white elephant. i gifted a bar of bacon scented soap which ended up in my dad hands. unfortunately it's still sitting in the wrapper in the same spot he left it. who wouldn't use bacon scented soap?! then dad read the christmas story and we sang a few songs. then it was the most exciting time of the night! christmas pj time! for the past few years i go out with my mom the day after thanksgiving and we shop for christmas pajamas. this time we decided to get everyone the same pair of black pants and the girls got long sleeve colorful shirts and the guys got graphic t's.
in the morning, liam woke up around 6 to nurse and then went back to sleep until about 9:30! i like to think it was his gift to me. we had a few gifts for liam at our house so we opened them for him and then we were on our way back to the andersons house where we opened gifts and hung out for a few hours. then we made the trip up to my parents to open more gifts and spend a few hours hanging out until dinner with my whole extended family in town.

this kid seriously scored this christmas!
over all we had a great christmas! i enjoyed the time i had off from work and with my family. i wish it could have lasted longer.

day after christmas:
nothing really exciting happened. i just wanted to document the day that liam had 3 1/2 blowouts and spit up everywhere while we were in the mall all within a 5 hour time period. not cool.

new years:
you know you're officially old when you rather stay at home new years eve then get a baby sitter and party! the truth is, liam and i were just getting over a cold we had caught from my nephew and lance was starting to feel crummy so it was movie night for us. one of the awesome gifts we got from lori was a movie basket with all kinds of treats inside with a tv show lance has been wanting to start. it's called luther and so far it seems like it's a brittish CSI type show.
sadly, this is the only picture i took on new years eve.

new years resolution:
remember last year when i talked about my office doing the biggest loser? i have no idea why i agreed to do that when i was actively trying to get pregnant. so that was a bust. but this year we're doing it again! i have been horrible about trying to lose this baby weight but with $150 in the pot, i'm ready to work out and watch what i eat for the next 90 days. i'm excited to see how i do. hopefully i can stay motivated!

What a fun Christmas! I so happy your (your side) whole family was able to be together for Christmas. Lots of great memories I bet. Luther is great! Chris and I have been watching it here and there on Netflix. They Lance he needs to watch Sherlock too. It's another BBC tv show. Also, good luck on the work biggest loser challenge! $150 is a great motivator!!

I always swore I would not have a baby in December because I didn't want their birthday to get skimped on. Then we got pregnant with Jacob AND he came 3 days late making his birthday even closer to Christmas! You'll have to give me some tips on how to make sure he gets a birthday AND christmas!
